When you hear the word "hunt" the first thing which pops up in our mind is either fox or deer or any type of animal living in a forest right? The word "hunt" just automatically links you to a violent idea. But, here in Japan we hunt for something else. No blood, no gore, no weapons needed. Cause here in Japan we hunt for fruits and vegetables.
Fall is a great time to go out hunting, so I would like to introduce some fruits and vegetables that are popular amongst the hunters. Popular fruits are cherries, melons, blue berries, and water melons, and as for vegetables, tomatoes, and edamames are very popular. Every fruit has a specific area where it is picked. For example, cherries are usually known for Yamagata and Hokkaido, and blue berries are popular in Fukushima. Some fruits are picked all over Japan, but it usually differs by season.
